This is a test post from the new iPhone app.
[I am back dating this post to the day it happened for posterity's sake.]
Well, it was a long day today. First, Goshen Bus Loading in the morning. Then, after a few phone calls and family deliberation, we went to the breeder in Culpepper that Eddie and Brittany went to and bought a puppy ourselves! It was a hard choice between the last black lab and the last girl, a yellow lab. I was leaning to the boy, Ali to the girl. Mom broke the tie and we got Pepper - the yellow lab girl. You can see some photos here on my Facebook gallery. I’ll put up more later on my regular home page. She is a handfull, but so worth it. I forgot how much work puppies are. Just like having another baby in the house
Ran a Rifle Merit Badge for a Troop out of Fairfax today. They were a great bunch of attentive Scouts. Kudos to the Scouts of Troop 1533 for a job well done.
On a personal note, we did not get a puppy this afternoon. Long story short, Brittany and Eddie want a puppy, and they found some good ones for only a small fee. I was maybe going to get one too (I can’t resist Lab puppies). We were going to stop by on the way home from the Rifle MB, but they were all gone as of Friday evening. Oh well.
Planning continues for our Pistol Instructor course this coming weekend, but the Rifle and Shotgun course looks like it may be a bust for lack of students. Not totally unexpected given the relatively short notice (about 1 month) and the location (Goshen). We’re definately going to have to do some long range planning for next summer’s offering and see what turn out we get.
UPDATE: Turns out Eddie and Brittany did get a puppy after all. As I went off gaming, they went off to Culpepper to a breeder there. They bought this beutiful black lab. Adorable. Makes me jealous…
Its been business as usual. Planning this weekend’s campout, working with a troop in Fairfax on a Rifle MB class, and trying to find out where my TC paperwork is…
On a personal note, the pool’s pump has finaly given up the ghost. Its time to replace it. Now I just need $$ to do it.
that the US Supreme Court ruled in favor of Heller in the District of Columbia v. Heller case yesterday. There are several blogs, news reports, and the NRA web site that have all the details, so I won’t go into them. I’m just glad that the SCOTUS ruled in favor of the opinion that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to keep and bear arms.
Yesterday was a good day
